Five variations

One board, five games

Four of them are Classic with a single rule changed. The full rule set for each is on the blog.

  • Classic

The original rules · 12-second turns

    • Roll a 6 to bring a token out of base
    • Land on a lone opponent token to send it back to base — and take another turn
    • The four start cells and four starred cells are safe; no capture ever happens there
    • An exact roll is needed to enter home, and three 6s in a row forfeit the turn
  • Master

Earn your home column · 12-second turns

    • Every Classic rule applies
    • You must capture at least one opponent token before any of yours may enter the home column
    • A cautious game is a losing game — the board forces contact
    • Still all four tokens home to win
  • Blitz

First token home wins · 5-second turns

    • All four tokens start on the board — no 6 needed to leave base
    • The turn timer drops from 12 seconds to 5
    • A missed turn auto-plays your furthest token
    • The first player to bring a single token home wins the whole match
  • Arrow

Launch tiles on the track · 12-second turns

    • Classic rules, plus arrow tiles placed around the ring
    • Landing on an arrow launches your token forward to the next arrow
    • Launches chain: one move can cross most of the board
    • All four tokens home to win
  • Team Up

Opposite seats pair up · 12-second turns

    • Four seats, two teams — the players sitting opposite each other
    • Teammates never capture each other and stack safely instead of blocking
    • All eight tokens of one team must reach home
    • The winning pair split the prize

The rest of it

Built for people who play a lot

Turn timers, reconnects, private rooms, leagues, daily rewards — the parts you only notice when they are missing.

  • Turn timers and reconnect

A visible 12-second turn timer (5 in Blitz). Drop out and your seat is held for 60 seconds with the board intact; after that a bot covers you so the others can finish.

  • Private rooms

Share a code and play with exactly who you want. Private matches award no league points, so a group of friends cannot farm the ladder.

  • Undo with Hearts

One Heart rewinds your last roll. It cannot improve your luck: the sequence was fixed at match start, so an undo simply re-draws the next value that was already coming.

  • Cosmetics, never advantage

Dice skins, token sets, board themes, avatar frames and chat bubbles. Nothing you can buy reaches dice generation, move legality or rewards.

  • Leagues and leaderboards

Bronze through Titan, resolved every week: the top fifth of a group go up, the bottom fifth go down, and Bronze never demotes. Boards for XP, wins and Hearts, global or by country, club or friends.

  • Published XP table

A capture is 15 XP, a token home 25, a win 60, a finish without a win 15. Level 4 unlocks League play. The table is a public endpoint — nobody has to guess.

  • Free Gold, always

A seven-day login streak, five daily missions, and a Magic Chest paying 300 Gold every four hours — so running dry never means having to spend.

  • Guest accounts that keep everything

Play with no signup. Link Facebook later and the same account is upgraded in place — same XP, Gold, cosmetics and stats. Nothing is reset.

  • Moderation that names its rules

Reports are acknowledged and reviewed by a person. Being blocked by five different players in one day suspends chat until the end of that day. Nobody is ever locked out of playing.

The economy

Hearts, priced against the genre

Hearts buy an undo, an extra turn or a gift. Every pack sits between 30% and 50% below the comparable one elsewhere — and none of it touches the board.

Ludo Vest Hearts packs compared with typical prices elsewhere in the genre.

Medium350$2.49$4.99
Large800$4.99$9.99

Gold — the currency you earn by playing — pays match stakes and some cosmetics. It comes from a seven-day login streak, five daily missions and a chest paying 300 Gold every four hours, so running dry never means having to spend.
